Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers Supports the NPBA Bench Bar Conference

By Mike Snellings, Norfolk Personal Injury Lawyer

At Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers, we always look to support worthy causes in the local area. One such cause is the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association’s 18th annual Bench Bar Conference — an event aimed at bringing together local attorneys and judges to discuss various topics impacting the legal profession.

Norfolk Waterside Marriott

The Norfolk Waterside Marriott (Marriott Hotels)

The event—scheduled for March 22, 2016, at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott — will feature a fantastic lineup of guest speakers to present the attendees with information regarding hot topics and recent developments in the law. Some of the topics to be discussed include the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, legal ethics, and key judicial opinions from the past year.

This year, the conference is fortunate to have the Honorable LeRoy F. Millette, Jr. (ret.) of the Virginia Supreme Court as its keynote speaker. Appointed by former Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, Justice Millette served on the Virginia Supreme Court from August 2008 until July 2015. Prior to his appointment to the Virginia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, Justice Millette served for many years in the Circuit Court of Prince William County, where he famously presided over the capital murder trial of John Allen Muhammad (the notorious Beltway Sniper).

As a platinum sponsor, the Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers team will be out in full force on the day of the event. We will have a table set up at the conference where the attendees can come and meet our team, discuss topics, and enter our raffle for a chance to have a $500 donation made in their name to a charity of their choice.

Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers has proudly supported this event many years in the past, including last year’s event featuring Attorney General Mark Herring. John Cooper and Jim Hurley have taught numerous continuing legal education seminars for the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association on many facets of personal injury law. We recently sponsored a table at the Youth of the Year Banquet for the Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Virginia.

Our main office is located at 2014 Granby Street in the Ghent area of Norfolk. We also have client meeting locations in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News, and on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. You can contact us at 757-455-0077 or by visiting
