Hampton Roads Wrongful Death Attorneys Highlight Fatal Motorcycle Crashes

As Hampton Roads wrongful death attorneys, we are concerned to read about the deaths of two motorcyclists in the Tidewater area over a matter of days.

We were saddened to read about the death of Jimmy Bryant from Chesapeake, a motorcyclist who hit a vehicle involved in a crash on Kempsville Road over the weekend.

Just days earlier, a Hampton collision claimed the life of a 22-year-old motorcyclist.

On Sunday, police received an emergency call around 11:19 a.m. related to a two-vehicle accident in the 500 block of Kempsville Road.

A report on WAVY.com stated a motorcycle hit one of the vehicles involved in the crash. The deceased rider was later identified as 75-year-old Jimmy Bryant, of Chesapeake.

Our thoughts are with the family of Mr. Bryant at this tragic time. Far too many motorcyclists are losing their lives on the highways of Hampton Roads.

The crash led to the closure of Kempsville Road between Greenbrier Parkway and Green Tree Road following the crash. Police have not said whether any of the drivers in the other two vehicles were seriously hurt.

Motorcyclist Tyree Freeland, 22, died at a local hospital on Dec. 1 after a serious crash on Thursday evening in Hampton.

Hampton Police were called around 9 p.m. to a two-vehicle crash in the 2100 block of Cunningham Drive, reported WAVY.com.

Mr. Freeland was reported to be riding a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja. When police officers arrived at Cunningham Drive, they found him suffering from critical injuries. He died later of his injuries at a local hospital.

Often riders lose their lives when they hit a larger vehicle that is making a left turn when the driver has failed to notice the motorcycle.

Crashes on turns often throw a rider off his or her machine and result in serious, life-threatening head injuries.
