Lexington Back Injury Wreck Case is Settled for $300,000

Back and neck injuries can be some of the most troublesome and long-lasting injuries that can be sustained in a vehicle wreck. Recently, a Lexington back injury wreck case was settled for $300,000 in Virginia.

The 44-year-old woman was injured by an F-150 pickup truck in Lexington in the Shenandoah Valley.

A report in Virginia Lawyers Weekly noted the woman was rear-ended by the pickup and pushed into the car in front of her.

She had been under the care of a chiropractor for six years before the Lexington back injury wreck occurred.

The Virginia Lawyers Weekly report noted she stopped treatment for about five months before the collision.

The 44-year-old was previously diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She stopped treatment about five months before the collision in Lexington.

She went to a chiropractor immediately after the crash. She reported complaints of neck, low back pain, and headaches.

She underwent treatment with a chiropractor for 10 weeks before seeking an orthopedic doctor. She underwent a cervical fusion at C-4, C-5-6, and C6-7 six months after the wreck. The case settled for insurance policy limits of $300,000, comprising $100,000 from GEICO and $200,000 from State Farm.

The plaintiff was represented by attorney Joel McClellan from Richmond.

The woman reported a host of problems from the crash including cervical subluxation and cervical radiculopathy requiring cervical fusion and headaches.

Lexington Back Injury Wreck and Other Spinal Injuries

Neck and spinal injuries may not only be long-lasting but they can be life-threatening. We detail spinal cord injuries here on our website.

Issues can include intensive pain, difficulty digesting food, circulatory problems and difficulty breathing. In extreme cases, spinal cord injuries can lead to paralysis and death.

Car wrecks can also lead to less serious but, nevertheless, potentially problematic injuries like herniated disks.

At Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers, our personal injury attorneys have a long track record of helping people who sustain complicated spinal and back injuries from auto accidents across Virginia and north eastern North Carolina.
