Terminal Boulevard Crash in Norfolk Seriously Injures Two Workers

When you work on or close to the highway, you are in constant danger of being injured or killed by a wreck. I was concerned to read about a Terminal Boulevard crash that seriously injured two workers this week.

Terminal Boulevard is a busy highway in Norfolk the carries a lot of industrial traffic to shipyards and the Naval base.

There are many commercial vehicles as well as railroad lines in this part of the city.

All cases are different and no case is a predictor of a future one, but a few years ago I helped a man who suffered a brain injury when he was hit by a truck on Terminal Boulevard. He was able to recover $460,000 for his injuries.

The Virginian-Pilot reported a crash this week that injured two workers on Terminal Boulevard when they were struck by a vehicle that had been involved in a crash.

In this video, I describe the dangers at Terminal Boulevard and Hampton Boulevard

The incident was reported about 9:40 a.m. on Thursday. The report stated a Dodge pickup truck was traveling east on Terminal Boulevard when it was hit by a Honda going north on Diven Street. The Honda driver was trying to turn left onto Terminal Boulevard.

The force of the crash caused the pickup truck to spin and go onto the median where it hit the workers. WAVY.com reported they were Midasco employees.

Norfolk police reports stated they suffered serious injuries, but are expected to recover from them.

My thoughts are with the workers who were struck in this Terminal Boulevard crash.

The truck driver was treated for minor injuries. The driver of the Honda was not injured, according to the report.

Workers on medians and by the side of highways face a substantial risk of injuries. We frequently read about wrecks on the work zone on I-64 north of Newport News where the highway is being widened.

Recently, Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers represented a highway worker who lost both of his legs when he was hit by a drunk driver on I-264 in Norfolk. Our client who was from Newport News was awarded $2.8 million in a lawsuit.

If you or a loved one has been injured due to the fault of another, you may be able to make a claim for your losses. Call us today for a no-strings, free consultation at (757) 455-0077.
