Three Cooper Hurley Attorneys Teach at Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association Seminar

John Cooper, Jim Hurley, and Bill O’Mara of Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers will be presenting to the attendees of a Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association continuing legal education seminar on September 29, 2016. The three-hour long afternoon seminar is entitled Injury Litigation Practice: Demands, Negotiations, and Settlements. Three hours of CLE credit, including one hour of ethics, will be earned for attending.

 

John and Jim will be presenting on various aspects of the injury litigation process including case presentation, working with insurance claims adjustors, negotiation techniques, effective mediation, adding value, and special settlement issues.The ethics portion of the seminar will be presented by Bill O’Mara. He will discuss commonly-encountered situations which all attorneys practicing injury law need to be aware of to avoid ethical pitfalls. Above is a video of Bill discussing the upcoming event.

John Cooper and Jim Hurley have presented CLE seminars over the last three years to the Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association and the Virginia Beach Bar Association. Topics have included premises liability and ethics in legal marketing. We very much hope attorneys can join us.

John Cooper and Jim Hurley have co-authored The Best Book for Virginia Car Accidents & Injuries - a book addressing many of the same topics that the seminar will discuss. We will be providing free copies of the book to all who attend the seminar.

The seminar is on September 29, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Dominion Tower, Suite 400 in Norfolk. Bill O’mara

Bill O’Mara started his legal career in 2008, moving back to his home town of Chesapeake, VA. He has practiced in the field of plaintiffs’ personal injury and other litigation. He has gained extensive court room and trial experience, including contested trials before judges and juries across Hampton Roads. In 2014, Mr. O’Mara joined Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers as an associate attorney. He became a partner in 2017.
