Workers Sustained Serious Injuries When They Were Hit by Truck on Norfolk’s Terminal Boulevard

More details have emerged about a wreck on Thursday morning which caused a truck to flip and seriously injured two workers on Terminal Boulevard in Norfolk.

Police in Norfolk said a Dodge pickup traveling east on Terminal Boulevard was struck by a Honda sedan as the Honda driver tried to turn left onto Terminal from Diven Street.

A report on WAVY.com stated the impact caused the truck to spin and flip onto a median on Terminal Blvd. where two Midasco employees were working. Both of the workers were hurt at around 9:40 a.m.

They were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The man driving the pick-up was also transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The wife of the pickup driver told WAVY he sustained a deep cut and was transported in a neck brace as a precaution. She said his airbag failed to deploy.

Workers on medians and beside roads face a host of dangers from careless and reckless drivers. My thoughts are with those who are injured, and I hope they make a speedy recovery.

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) said the wreck closed the I-564 West ramp onto Terminal Boulevard for a time after the accident. It was reopened shortly after 12 p.m.

As Norfolk car accident injury lawyers, we have helped people injured on Terminal Boulevard in the past as well as people who have been hurt by commercial vehicles.

You can read more about truck wreck injuries here. Trucks and other commercial vehicles are typically heavier and cause greater injuries in a crash. If you are hurt in an accident by one of these vehicles, you can often make a claim against a company.

Workers who are injured on the job may have grounds to make a workers’ compensation claim or a negligence claim if someone was to blame. They may be able to make both.

At Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers we can advise you of your rights and help you file a claim. We have a main office in Norfolk and client meeting locations in every city in Hampton Roads as well as on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. For further details contact us here or call (757) 455-0077.
