William Dudley

Will Dudley Joined Cooper Hurley Injury Lawyers in April 2017. He is a Portsmouth native who spent all of his career practicing law in Hampton Roads.

Will was born at Portsmouth Naval Hospital when his father was serving in the U.S Army. He grew up close to Olde Towne. Will attended high school at I.C. Norcom. He became interested in working as a lawyer from a young age when his grandmother was babysitting for him.

Will’s grandmother was a big fan of Perry Mason, the TV defense attorney. Will says the influence of the show made him want to be a lawyer from an early age.

Will attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk and the University of Richmond School of Law.

Although he initially wanted to become a criminal defense attorney, an accident involving his oldest child set him on a course to be a personal injury attorney.

Will’s oldest son suffered burns to his hand from a glass candle. He hired a personal injury attorney to file a lawsuit. He was so impressed with the job the attorney did, it gave him a passion for personal injury law.

Will’s first job as an attorney was at a general practice law firm in Newport News. He then worked with the Newport News public defenders’ office for three years and later as a lawyer for an insurance company.

Will is married to Tracy and they live in Chesapeake. They have five-year-old twins Mila and Miles. Will also has a 17-year-old son called William.

He lists his hobbies as golf and says his children keep him busy.
